Craig was born in Pittsburg, PA and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954 attaining the rank of tech sergeant. He was a police lieutenant for Conrail in Selkirk for 34 years before retiring in February of 1993. He was a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #2192 in Colonie, American Legion Post #1450 in Halfmoon, VFW Post #8692 in Lansingburg, and the Veterans of Lansingburg. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley (Avery) Valentine; his loving children, Sharon Palmer (Dale), James Rhoads (Linda), Alice Coons (Rodney), Craig Valentine Jr. (Mary Beth), and Mark Valentine (Kathy); nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
