Thomas Jefferson Jennings, 88, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Ellen Jennings, “Jennings Ranch” at Mount Sharp, (Hays County, Texas), Wednesday, February 24, (1943), 7:10 o’clock p.m. Mr. Jennings was born near Richmond, (Hunt County), Texas December 21, 1854 and moved to Mt. Sharp in 1868 to make his home there for 75 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Miss Ann McCuistion (daughter of Elisha McCuistion and Ellenor “Ellen” [Soules] McCuistion) on November 25, 1878 (in Hays County, Texas). No children were born to this union. Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held at the Mt. Sharp Cemetery February 26 at 10 o’clock a.m. with Rev. Hanselman, Methodist pastor of the San Marcos officiating. Pallbearers were: Charles Oldham, Will Crow, Walter Burnett, Carroll Herring, Hilmar Pape and L. O. Cobb. Interment was under the direction of the Hyltine Funeral Home of Austin, Texas.
