Cecelia was the last child born to Samuel Lynch Burdette and Aileen Louella Houchins Burdette of Greenbrier County.

Cecelia was born with congenital heart disease and spent her brief life in the hospital. Her mother died the day after giving birth to her.

When Cecelia succumbed two months later, she was buried near her mother in New Lebanon Cemetery.
