He is survived by his wife, Martha; his five children, Sue Wampler, Carl (Mary Beth) Ashcraft, Cara Butkowski, Claire Ashcraft and Crista Reba; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
Born in 1926 in Hammond, Mr. Ashcraft was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in both World War II and Korea.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 10th at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of the Angels, located at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S. Cline Ave., Schererville, Reverend Mike Pennanen will officiate and military honors will follow.
