Civil War Veteran: Before moving to Arizona Sam Weir fought in the War Between the States. Sam enlisted in Company H, 14th Virginia Cavalry Regiment on May 14th 1861 at Rockbridge County. He was promoted to Corporal on April 1st 1864, and 1st Sergeant on September 1st 1864
