GILBERT Genevieve Louise (Ancona) Gilbert, born November 23, 1923, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2008, at the age of 84. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 N.W. Hwy. 9, Kansas City, MO 64152; burial in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. Therese Church prior to Mass. Please omit flowers. Aunt Gen was known for her cookie baking. She baked for every family wedding and function. She was always ready to lend a helping hand with baby and wedding showers, creating some of the prettiest party favors. Genevieve was a devoted Catholic, helping with numerous projects at the former St. Aloysius Parish. She, along with her husband, received the Bishop's Award for service in 1991. Gen will be deeply missed by all. Rest in peace, Aunt Gen. Genevieve was predeceased by son Charles Michael Gilbert; brothers John and Joe Ancona; sister Rose Sorrentino; and sisters-in-law Stella and Susie Ancona. Survivors include her devoted husband, Charles Gilbert; brother Sam Ancona; sister and brother-in-law Rose and Tony Campobasso; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Helen Gilbert, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
