Mrs. Marilyn Riemer Pasco, 84, who lived in Washington from 1970 to 2009, died August 27, 2013 at Atria Senior Living, an assisted living facility in Marietta, Georgia.

Mrs. Pasco was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1929. A first-generation American who grew up on a farm in central Illinois, she was the youngest of four children born to parents who had emigrated from Germany. The first realtor in Washington, Georgia to make extensive use of advertising in the Washington News-Reporter, she eventually founded Marilyn Pasco Realty. With a tagline of dog-gone good houses, her business card featured a picture of a golden retriever closely resembling her dog, Rita. She was a three-time member of the Georgia Real Estate Association's million dollar club. Active in many local organizations, including the Iris Garden Club, the Washington-Wilkes Historical Foundation, and Washington Presbyterian Church, she also enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and participating in a local art class.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 3:00pm in Washington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Glen Kohlhagen officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Her husband of forty seven years, Ed, died in 1999; a daughter, Vicki, in 1998; and a son, Daniel, in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Laymon of Washington, DC; a son, Douglas Pasco, of Marietta, GA; six grand-children and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Presbyterian Church.
