Courtney Simpson
Ulysses - Courtney Simpson, 75, died Sunday at the western Prairie Nursing Home, after a long illness.
Born Feb. 2, 1896, in Fairfield, Ill., he married Grace E. Malone, Jan. 29, 1919, in Fairfield, Ill. She died in 1949. He was a retired custodian and moved here in 1923.
He was a member of the IOOF.
Survivors include sons, Wayne, Sebatopol, Calif.; Eugene, Guymon, Okla.; Cecil R. and Edgar, Ulysses; daughters, Mrs. Corene Gee, Mrs. Lois McMannaman, Mrs. Dorothy Hickman and Mrs. Jane McMannaman, all of Ulysses; brother, Edgar, Fairfield, Ill., sisters, Mrs. Florence Merritt, Mill Shoals, Ill.; Mrs. Martha Suddarth, Fairfield, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Phillips Chapel; Rev. Benny Yount. Burial will be in the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening and Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
