Freda Adalee Hampton

Ulysses - Freda Adalee Hampton, 87 died May 22, 1992, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, after a short illness.

She was born Oct. 7, 1904, at Plains, the daughter of Marion and Mattie Porter Malone. A Ulysses resident since 1948, moving from Brownfield, Texas, she was a retired farmer and rancher.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Brownfield, Texas, and an honorary member of the Ulysses Bit & Spur Rodeo Club.

On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Murel Hurd Hampton at Clalyton, N.M. He died May 2, 1988.

Survivors include: a stepdaughter, Margaret Epperson, Shawnee, Okla.; a brother, Clyde Malone, Granada, Colo.; three sisters, Alta Wheeler, St. Maries, Idaho, Ella Church, Michigan, and Nannie Correll, Ulysses.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Chapel, Ulysses, with the Rev. Sam Bynum presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses.

Memorials may be sent to the Senior Citizens Center, Ulysses, in care of the mortuary.
