Dominick Michael Candebat, Jr., a proud US Army World War II Veteran and two time purple heart recipient passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington, LA at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of the late RitaMae Candebat for 65 years.
Father of Dominick and his wife Patsy of Carriere, MS, Richard of Chalmette, LA, Wayne and his wife Laura of Gonzales, LA, Thomas and his wife Jerri of Slidell, LA and Bruce and his wife Vicki of Suwanee, GA and the late Michael and his wife Renee' of Carriere, MS.
Brother of Reinann Blouin, Joan Gettys, George Candebat, Richard Candebat, Jimmy Candebat and the late Wilbur Candebat, Wilimae Finnin and Robert Candebat.
Also survived by ten grandchildren and his late granddaughter Rachelle Candebat, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by a host of family and friends.
Dominick was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish and a resident of Pearl River County, MS for the past 8 years.
He was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune, MS.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM.
Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
