Opal Dianne Buckson,15,was abducted from her yard as she and her sister were walking to get on the school bus by the Gaffney Strangler her sister was able to help give a description of the car he was driving ,she was found murdered by the Gaffney Strangler.
Opal Dianne Buckson was the daughter of Mr.& Mrs.Emanuel Buckson, she was a girl scout and a honor student at Gaffney School.



Miss Buckson was one of four women killed by the Gaffney Strangler Leroy Martin he was arrested Feb.16,1968 for the murders of these Four Women

Lee Roy Martin, is led from the Cherokee County courthouse in 1968. Martin, called the "Gaffney Strangler," was convicted of murdering four women and sentenced to life in prison. Martin was killed by another inmate in 1972.
