Mrs. Mabel E. Sparrow, 86, of Payson, formerly of
West Point, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday (June 20, 1993)in Blessing Hospital at 11th in Quincy.
Born November 4, 1906 in Keene Township south of Big Neck, was a daughter of Charles and Rosetta Hess Adair. She attended Mount Vernon School and was a member of West Point Christian Church. She and her husband farmed near Lima and Loraine.
On November 20, 1922, she married Alva Sparrow in Quincy. He survives.
Survivors also include four sons, Donald and Robert, both of West Point, Dean of Moline and Lawrence of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Dorothy Newell and Mrs. Donald (Lucy) Lohmeyer, both of Quincy, and Mrs. Gerald (Wilma) Powers of Plainville, a sister, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Hart of Macomb; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Oren Adair.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Curry-Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon by the Rev. Henry Pratt. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa.
