OBITUARY-
Gladys M. Mason, 83, Austin, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Gladys was born May 23, 1917, in Pleasant Valley, Ill, to Burton and Annie (Wurster) Olmstead. She was united in marriage to Avon Mason on Feb. 6, 1938, in Osage, Iowa. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurses aide.
Survivors include her husband Avon Mason, Austin; daughters and a son-in-law, Carol (Robert) Brabbit and Sandra Thurnau, Austin; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell Mason, Austin, Kenneth (Phyllis) Mason, Hastings; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Ena Rugg, Austin, Eileen Johns, Rockford, Ill.; sister-in-law, Florence Olmstead, Rockford, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a son Allen Keith, brothers Emery Olmstead, and Glen Olmstead and her parents.
Service: A private family service will be held on Wednesday with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Casket bearers will be William (Sonny) Murphy, Ronald Walburn, Jesse Barker, Scott Goligowski, Jamie Goligowski and Andrew Mason Haulting.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. at Mayer Funeral Home.
There will be no reviewal.
