The funeral of Mrs. Phoebe Asay was held in the Congregational church last Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Palmer of Onarga. Rev. Thompson and Rev. Atkins aided in conducting the exercises. Mrs Asay was born in New Jersey, Oct. 26th 1826. In 1866 she came to Illinois where she resided until her death which occurred Monday Nov. 18th 1899. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and three children besides other relatives and friends. The body was placed in the Thawville cemetery.
