Louella A. Davis, 85, of Kearney, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating. Graveside services will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City at 1:00 p.m. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.
Louella was born December 18, 1927 in Loup City to Ray and Sarah (Bickel) Piper. She graduated from Loup City High School. Louella started working in Rock Island, Illinois in the Capri Theatre. She later transferred to the Capital Theatre in Grand Island, working there as manager until it closed. She married Jack Augustine on February 12, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in Grand Island, and worked at Fonner Park. Louella enjoyed playing bingo, watching Nebraska Football, ice dancing, and golf; especially Tiger Woods.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sharon Buck and her husband Michael of Gibbon, NE; sons, Earl McLain and his wife Rhonda of Flagstaff, AZ, Roger McLain of Safford, AZ; sister Delta Placzek of Loup City, NE, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Louella is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, daughter Nancy, 1 brother Earl, grandson Chaz, and brother-in-law Clarence.
