Matthew Brey, age 40, of 3609 West Marshall Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Friday, August 30, 2013 at his residence.

Matt was born on May 20, 1973 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was the son of Edwin P. and Lee M. Rewolinski Brey. Matt attended Roncalli High School and graduated with the class of 1992. He then continued his education at the University Wisconsin extension in Manitowoc for two years and then went on to the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee to complete his schooling. Matt was a member of the Thursday Night Bowling League in Manitowoc. He enjoyed Frisbee golf, was a huge fan for every type of sport, enjoyed traveling when opportunities came available and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his parents: Edwin and Lee Brey, Manitowoc, WI; one brother and sister-in-law: Timothy and Angela Brey, Manitowoc, WI; proud uncle of Dylan, Leah, and Lydia; special friends: Matt and Michelle Peltier and their son, Logan; aunt, uncles along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Ambrose and Cecilia Rewolinski; paternal grandparents: Kenneth and Moncia Brey; one aunt: Julie Golding.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. to conclude the visitation lead by Fr. Dan Dewane, a family relative. The visitation will continue on Wednesday morning at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 o'clock noon at which time prayers will be read followed by the procession leaving for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo for the mass at 12:30 p.m. Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be directed to Roncalli High School or the Brey Scholarship Fund at Roncalli High School. Online condolences to the family can be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
