Ralph E. Huebner, age 82, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Ralph was born on May 9, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Edwin and Beatrice (Prokash) Huebner. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1948 from Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean conflict as a second class radio man from 1951 to 1955. Ralph was a past member of the Masonic Lodge #65, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, and York Rite. He was a past member and president of the philatelic club, member of the of the Manitowoc Flyers, past member and president and area govenor of Toastmasters and past president of his bowling leaguer. Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, radio controlled metal airplanes, camping and computers.
Survivors include four children: Debra (Scott) Schomburg, Burlington, NC; Brian (Erica) Huebner, Manitowoc; Jerald (Kathy) Huebner, Green Bay; Robert Huebner, Green Bay; seven grandchildren; Katie and Tyler Schomburg; Kristopher, Emily and Mason Huebner; Ian and Hailey Huebner; one sister-in-law: Iola LaFond, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law: John Dempsey, Temple, TX. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: George Huebner; one sister: Marjorie Dempsey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Pastor Jim Gerth will officiate. Military graveside services will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #657 at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com
