Ray was born on August 5, 1931 in Albany and was the son of the late James and Martha (Sargent) Connell. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps. He worked for General Electric in Schenectady for 42 years before retiring in 1991 as a drafting supervisor. He was a total outdoorsman and a master of all trades.
Ray is the husband of 60 years to Marlene (Roberts) Connell. He is the father of Kathy Audi (Joe), Peter Connell (Diane), Paul Connell (Ann), Patrick Connell (Kathy), Philip Connell (Donna), and Karen Van Cleef (Andy). He is the brother of James Connell (Shirley), Thomas Connell (Barbara), Edward Connell (Linda), David Connell (Jesse), Roland Connell, Mary Razewski (David), and Joan Rapp (Frank) and the late Martha Scaringe and Charles Connell. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
