Growing up Barbara 'Bobbyee' (she added the double 'ee's in high school) and her younger sister Priscilla, 'Cilla' never knew their biological father Norwood T. Steadham, and he never bothered to contact them either. When their mother remarried on April 8, 1941 to James C. Lindsay (F-A-G #3414252), he became their father and they both (unofficially) took his last name.
Bobbyee graduated from the Pensacola Junior College (now Pensacola State College) with a degree in nursing in May 1974. As a Registered Nurse, she began working for the Lakeview Center (formerly the Community Mental Health Center) from 1976-1998 and served as the director of their Drug and Alcohol Detox Unit from about 1979 to 1998.
