Ronald O. Speich, 88, of Rockwood, passed away Sept. 15, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 17 from the chapel of Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, with the Rev. Pete Scarbrough officiating. Graveside services and interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Speich was an ordained Baptist minister, a member of the Westel Baptist Church and was a deacon for over 50 years. He was a father and grandfather figure to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Survivors include his sisters, Pauline Howard of Westel, Mary Stiles of Westel, Evelyn Keylon of Chattanooga and Eva Coley and her husband, Harold, of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Olene Speich of Texas and Bertie Jolley of Rockwood; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, many of whom he and his wife, Cleo, helped raise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Fred and Sarah Brookhart Speich; wife, Cleo Jolley Speich; brothers, Henry, Roy and Earl Speich; and sisters, Mable Nelson and Gladys Davis.
Evans Mortuary of Rockwood was in charge of the arrangements.
