Daughter of a wealthy Chinese family of scholars and government officials that been converted to Christianity in 1601.

Married missionary Charles Jones Song in 1887.

Mother of Soong Ai-ling, Soong Qing-ling, Soong Tse Ven (aka T.V. Soong), Soong May-ling, Soong Tse Liang (aka T.L. Soong), Soong Tse An (aka T.A. Soong).

Originally buried in Wanguo Cemetery. Her tomb and that of her husband were destroyed by the Red Guard and their bodies exposed. She was reburied in the mausoleum for Soong Qing-ling.
