Bob L. Adkisson

Bob L. Adkisson, 72, of 740 Ward Road, Galatia, passed away 10:48 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky. He was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Williamson County to Blanche (Sprague) and John "Cap" Adkisson Jr.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at Ebenezer Cemetery in rural Galatia with the Rev. John Howat officiating.

Bob was a life-long farmer in his community and cabinet maker. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Galatia. He served his country in the United States Army. He married the former Jean Heflin on Sept. 15, 1961 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Galatia.

Bob is survived by his wife Jean (Heflin) Adkisson; one daughter and son-in-law, Bobby and Twyla Peak; one special granddaughter, JeanLu Peak; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Richard Stevens and his brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Betty Adkisson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
