Mrs. Alex Shanks died Tuesday morning at Lansing, Ill., of consumption. She had been bedfast for the past six months. The funeral was held in Lansing [Illinois] Wednesday and the remains buried there. She leaves a husband and six children. The family formerly lived in Chesterton and are well known here.
