Barbara was born the daughter of Allen & Violet Orton Warner in the town of Estella. she was raised in the Cornell and Holcombe area and graduated from the Cornell High School. Barbara married Jack Geist June 18, 1953 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell. Barbara had worked as a bookkeeper for Cornell Farmers Union for two years and later had worked as a dispatcher for the Cornell Police and Fire and Rescue Department for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the PCCW and had been a Girl Scout Leader, and active in other organizations. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and had made hats for new born babies at St. Joseph's Hospital. Barb had also made mittens for the Mitten Tree at the Gilman State Bank.

Barb & Jack are the parents of Hope (Glen) Logan, Holly (Gary) Anderson, Pamela (David) Grensing, Heidi (Dan) Fasbender, & one daughter who passed away in infancy.

Barb's siblings include Phyliss Carrell, George "Bud" (Ruby) Warner, Marshall (Crystal) Warner, and 3 sisters whom preceded Barb in death.

Funeral services were held on August 4 from Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell, Jeremiah Cashman officiating.
