WINONA LAKE, Ind.
Florence Belle McCapes, 92, of Grace Village Nursing Home in Winona Lake, formerly of Randolph, NY died Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2005) in her home.

She was born June 21, 1913, in Randolph, NY, the daughter of George Franklin and Arla
Colburn McCapes.

An area resident most of her life, she was a 1929 graduate of Randolph High
School, received her teaching certification from the Fredonia Normal School and
her bachelor's of science in education from Buffalo State College. She served as
a missionary for 33 years in Tanzania, East Africa, where she taught Bible
instruction for the Africa Inland Mission. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Randolph, and active in release time Bible classes for school students
in Cattaraugus County.

She was an avid reader and was always caring for others or helping in anyway
she could.

She is survived by a sister, Marjorie M. Mighells of Winona Lake; and two
nieces who were her caregivers: Gladys M. Deloe of Winona Lake, and Elizabeth
Sue Schlee of Marion, Ind.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the VanRensselaer &
Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The Rev. Paul Wulf, pastor of the
First Baptist Church in Randolph, and the Rev. Jesse B. Deloe, her nephew, will
officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery
