Richard D. Bache, 3301 Godman Ave., associated with the Muncie Credit Bureau for 15 years and former owner of the Household Electric Co., died at 4 a.m. Sunday at Ball Hospital after an illness of two years. Mr. Bache retired in 1954 from Muncie Credit. He operated Household Electric for 17 years at 107 W. Jackson St.

Prominent in the Travelers Protective Association, he was president of the local chapter for two terms.

Mr. Bache was born in Louisville, Ky., and was a great-great-great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin. Following family tradition, he was a printer in Louisville before moving to Muncie in 1924. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Caroline Sacksteder Bache, to whom he was married in 1913 in Louisville, and four sisters, Miss Ada G. Bache, Mrs. Lawrence F. Speckman and Mrs. Edwin C. Kornfeld of Louisville and Mrs. William G. Hagman of Miami, Fla.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Meeks Mortuary. Dr. Lewis Weber Gishler will officiate, with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery. Callers will be received at the mortuary after 4 p.m. Monday.

Active pallbearers will be Judge L.F. Speckman and E.C. Kornfield of Louisville, M.F. Fisher, A.M. Bateman and A.G. Allen of Muncie and F.E.. Fantz of LaJolla, Calif.

Honorary pallbearers will be L.H. Clark, J.N. Sanders, O.L. Huffman, W.R. Sterrett, R.O. Clark, R.D. Phelp, A.H. Kornfeld, E.E. Warner and Marwood Downs.
