Ethel Mae Arndt, 81, of Rhodes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1930 in Midland, daughter of the late George and Georgia (Drayton) Carman. She married Alfred Arndt on February 2, 1948 in Gladwin and a quote to her children was "My final piece of the puzzle was when I married your Dad." Ethel's enjoyments include, cooking, playing cards, canning, gardening, but her most precious enjoyment was being at home with her family around her. Surviving in addition to her husband Alfred of 64 years are her children and their spouses, Carolyn and William Moulton of Hemlock, Charles and Pauline Arndt of Rhodes, Barbara Arndt of Midland, Brenda Pater of Beaverton; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Lavina Frasier, Betsy Waswick, Delores and Albert Arndt and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
