Born in an adobe house in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, the eldest of five children of Ernest Draper and Alvina Hansen, Fremont Ernest "Monte" Draper, 92, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Graduating from the Wasatch Academy, he married Luella Hansen June 26, 1935. Well-like, with a ‘gift of gab' Monte was a salesman who enjoyed talking with people. Serving three stakes missions for the LDS Church, he was a home teacher. Active in politics, he loved gardening, raising fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers. Coaching many little leagues teams in the neighborhood, he enjoyed participating in sports, particularly baseball. A member of the Jaycees and Lions, he served four terms in the National Guard.

His sons, James Fremont (Janice) Draper, Stephen Leon (Pat) Draper, and David William Draper; his sister, Lillian Craig; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren survive him. His wife, Luella, parents, brothers, Doyle and James and sister, Annabel, preceded Monte in death.
