Peggy Louise Gresham Hill

Peggy Louise Gresham Hill, age 75, of Rome went home to see her Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at her residence.
A life-long resident of the Spring Creek community, Mrs. Hill was born April 6, 1938. The daughter of the late Alline Branton Gresham and Larry LaJoy "Joy" Gresham, she was a '57 graduate of Pepperell High School. Mrs. Hill was employed by the late attorney Vaughn Terrell, HandiCraft Cleaners, Enloe Drug Company, and retired from Avery Drugs.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the New Hope Chapel Baptist congregation. In her later years, even when she was not physically able to attend, New Hope was always in her thoughts, heart, and prayers. She was thankful that the congregation was always attentive to her and her husband's needs. During her years of church work, she was involved with youth ministries, the Sunday school secretary, an active member of the choir and a founding member of the Spring Creek Trio. She will always be remembered as a kind and caring person with a heart that had room for everyone or every animal she met. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday and always had a card to share her thoughts and love.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her sister Joyce Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Hill, to whom she was married May 6, 1972; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis & Ray Hines; brother-in-law, Larry Johnson; sister- and brother-in-law Carol & Obe Williams; nephews and nieces Alicia & Scott Henson, Eric & Shanna Johnson, Paul & Crystal Hines, Seth Hines, and Dawanna & Terry Everett; great nieces and nephews Daniel and Pierce Henson, Adriana, Eli and Noah Hines, Ella and Annie Johnson. Her devoted Maltese Terrier "Lady" also survives.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Spring Creek Cemetery on Nichols Road (off Chulio Rd.) with the Reverends Drew Brown and Charles Lively officiating. Nephews Paul Hines and Seth Hines will offer prayers and a eulogy. The family received friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should meet at the cemetery Saturday at 10:45: Seth Hines, Larry Mormon, Eric Johnson, Daniel Henson, Mitchell Floyd, Gayland Dodd, Scotty Floyd, and Mike Barker.
