Robert J. Huba died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Robert was one of ten children born to the late William and Mary Bigley Huba.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Henzel Huba and his six children: Janet of Florida,M. Barbara, Gerianne Anderson, Lisa Fasulo, Gregory W. (Valerie)of Rhode Island and Michael J. Huba. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jennifer Jarett, Amy Gibb, Hayley Suminski and Jamie Oberto. Sgt. Robert J. Huba of Kuai, Ian Anderson, Laura Anderson, William Huba, Alexandra Fasulo, Allegra Fasulo and Eliza Rose Vera. He is also proud great-grandfather to Braydon and Julia. He is also survived by his sister Mary Blessing, his brother Albert Huba and the late Gertrude Masse, Harold J., Joseph T., Walter E., Raymond V., Edward D., and Dolores Ann Huba.

Mr. Huba was the retired President of Henzel-Powers Inc. He attended the Blessed Sacrament School,Christian Brothers Academy, and Siena College. He served with the United States Marine Corp. in the South Pacific during WWII, attaining the rank of Platoon Sergeant. He was an avid golfer and a former club champion and three time senior champion at Wolferts Roost Country Club where he and Helen both enjoyed their holes-in-one. He was a five time golf champion of the Eastern Seniors Association.
He was a member emeritus of the NYS Senior Golf Assoc., and active for many years with the Middle Atlantic Blind Golfers Association. Mr. Huba was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society of Albany as well as a member of the Elks Lodge #49, The American Legion Post 1610, and a former Director of the Board of the Albany Boys Club.
He was an original trustee of the Wolferts Roost Caddy Scholarship Fund and the first president of the Blessed Sacrament Home School Association.

He was known as "Pop" and "Big D" to his family. He was a true patriarch and felt his greatest achievement was his family.

He was a devoted grandpa, husband, father and patriot and will be so dearly missed.
