Fred S. Gill (94) entered into eternal rest August 31, 2013.

He was born to Fred and Florence Gill near Grandfield, OK, October 19, 1918.

Fred enlisted in the Coast Guard during W.W.II. He was assigned to special duty on the Navy Ship U.S.S. Charles Carroll that participated in the D Day invasion of Normandy and several other European invasions.

Fred was employed at Leland Lincoln-Mercury where he retired as Vice President and part owner.

Fred was the Grandson of James Archibald Gill who was a Civil War Veteran of the Confederate Calvary.

Preceded in death by his parents and sisters Glenna and Ruth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy, daughter Ann, son Roy and daughter-in-law Maria and family.

As a avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman Fred would appreciate any donations to be made to the NRA or Texas Parks and Wildlife in his name.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Odyssey Hospice in Conroe and Friend Nancy Plaster for all their loving care. A memorial service celebrating Fred's life will be held on his birthday, October 19, 2013 in Walnut Cove, Willis, Texas. Condolences may be sent to his family at [email protected]
