Funeral services for Patricia Bonnette Long will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the First Pentecostal Church (FPC) of Baton Rouge. Pastor Dan Davis and Rev. Ryan Hartzell will officiate. Longtime family friend and former employer, J.O. Charrier, Esq. will offer comments. Graveside service: Hemphill Star Cemetery, Boyce, LA, Monday, September 9, 2013 at 12 noon. Mrs. Long, 70, entered eternal life Thursday, September 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her husband of nearly 48 years and faithful caregiver, Billy O. Long, and devoted son, Trenton C. Long, both of Baton Rouge, her supportive sister, Trenna Bonnette, and her loving niece, Carla Bonnette Rogers. Other surviving family members include Carla's husband, T. Lynn Rogers, and their two children, Carly and Thomas, who loved their Aunt Pat like a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. T.C. and Ovella Bonnette. A 47-year resident of Baton Rouge, she served the First Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge in a variety of capacities, including Capitol City Christian School Secretary (1976-until its closure) and FPC Secretary/Treasurer from 2000 until the time of her illness in February. Friends may call at FPC of Baton Rouge on Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 5 pm until time of service. Memorials may be made to FPC of Baton Rouge in lieu of flowers.
