Howell was born in Lincoln, Idaho and lived in San Bernaardino for 63 years. He was a supervisor for General Telephone company for 37 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Lions Club. He was survived by his wife, Nellie Mae, his son, Jim of Portland, Oregon, two daughters, Kathy Driesling of Oakland, Nebraska and Peg Campbell of flagstaff, Arizona and four grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Montecito Memorial Park with Montecito Mortuary directing.
