Barbara Arrington Powell, 77, died Saturday September 7th 2013, at the Brightwater Nursing Facility in Myrtle Beach SC. She passed peacefully with the support of her family and the staff of the facility.
Barbara was a graduate of Floral McDonald College with a Bachelors of Arts and a Master''s of Education from Appalachian State University. Barbara spent her life dedicated to her children, the First Baptist Church of Rowland and the multitude of students in the Robeson County School System.
Barbara is survived by; her daughter Joanna Powell Prince and husband Ed W Prince, III and her sister Nancy Arrington Bridgers and husband Robert O Bridgers all of North Myrtle Beach SC. also her step-grandsons Edward W (Jennifer) and Whitney M Prince and two great grand-children EJ and Stella all of the North Myrtle Beach Area. Nieces and nephews Kathy B Tsitouris, Charles E Bridgers, Arnom O Bridgers, and their spouses and children, several cousins and many friends. Barbara was predeceased by her son William Mark Powell of Rowland.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 10th at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Rowland with The Reverend Michael Johnson officiating and Graveside services to immediately follow in the Rowland Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors on Monday September 9th between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home in Rowland NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church PO Box 397, Rowland NC 28383.
