Mr. Billy Willard Crews, Sr., 81, died Monday morning (September 9, 2013) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.

He was a native of Coffee County, but he has lived most of his life in Ware County. He retired from Scapa Dryers after 36 years, and he also attended Hargraves Chapel in Millwood.

He is the son of the late Andrew James "A. J." Crews and Myra Courson Crews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jenette Howard Crews; one son, Gerald James Crews; two brothers, Rev. Ralph Crews and Ronald Crews; and one sister, Deliah Crews.

Survivors include his special friend, Fronie Smith of Waycross; one son, Billy Willard Crews, Jr. (wife Jean) of Waycross; one daughter, Phyllis Daye (husband Marvin) of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Tina Crews McQuaig (Rev. Randy) of Waycross, Corinna Daye of Brunswick, Samantha Crews and Sarah Crews both of Waycross; two great grandchildren, Haley and Hannah McQuaig; two step-grandchildren, Kenneth Harrell (Julie) and Steve Harrell (Kim) both of Waycross; three step-great grandchildren, Jessica, Micah and Dawson Harrell; one brother, Gene Crews (wife Jeanette) of Harriett's Bluff; one aunt, C. P. Byrd of Dunnellon, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (September 11, 2013) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hephzibah Cemetery in Dixie Union. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Music Funeral Home.
