PARENTS: William McCormick (1845-1921) married Elizabeth Mount Van Doren (b.1844) on Jan. 7, 1868 in LaSalle County, Illinois. Elizabeth was the daughter of Sarah Catherine & Isaac Terhune Van Doren(1819-1905). Wm. & Elizabeth had seven children. Dorothy was their fourth child and third daughter. Her legal given name was "Elta Dorothy" but she preferred Dorothy.

Dorothy married John Willis Coffee in 1904, and they had five children: Audrey, Laurence, Elisabeth (Betty), Helen and John.
