FRANK MATHEW SUPANICH JR., age 82, of L'Anse, passed away Saturday July 6, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, where he had been a patient for several days. He was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on September 1, 1930 the son of the late Frank and Helen (Morin) Supanich. Frank attended school in L'Anse. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 14, 1953 Frank married the love of his life, Mary Marcella "Marcy" Ellenich at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Baraga. He had worked as a laborer at Celotex Corporation. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking rides in the woods, and going down town for a mug of beer. His greatest joy was his family who he loved very much and they loved him equally.

Frank is survived by his loving family, his wife Marcy, son Frank (Janet) Supanich, and daughters Deb (Dave) Perrow, and Dawn Supanich (Kevin Kalliainen) all of L'Anse, 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, brothers Bob Supanich of Illinois, Tony (Terry) Supanich of WI, and Nick Supanich of L'Anse, sisters Marion Kreutzer of Illinois, and Ann (Jim) Sullivan of Illinois. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and in-laws also survive. He was preceded in death by his sons Dale, Gary, and Larry, brothers Martin, Paul, and Ray, sisters Ruth, Rosemary, and Alice, and sisters-in-law Doane and Dee.

Funeral services for Frank were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Deacon John Cadeau officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Baraga County area veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post #444 conducted military honors at the funeral chapel on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Interment took place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Following the services, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral chapel.
