James R. Vashaw, 41, of 109 Warren St., Portland, died Wednesday, March 12.
He was born Jan. 7, 1939, the son of Ralph and Phyllis (West) Vashaw.
He was employed as sexton of Portland Cemetery for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; a son, Michael and a daughter, Catherine, both at home; his mother, Phyllis; two brothers, Patrick and John of Portland; and three sisters, Mrs. Valerie (Daniel) English, Mrs. Darlene Hardin and Mrs. Bonnie (Walter) Czaika, all of Portland.
Rosary services were Friday at 8 p.m. and funeral mass was Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m., with Father Donald Weber officiating.
Burial was in Portland Cemetery.
