He was survived by son James S. Markowski, daughter Dorothy T. Byan, sisters Jessie Garrett, Frances Schnuit, Eleanor Hart, and Christine Jaromin, brothers Stephen, Joseph, and Michael Markowski, sister-in-law Mary Brokus, and five grandchildren.
Christian Wake Service was held at the Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 1501 E. Fort Avenue, Baltimore (21230). Mass of Christian Burial was said at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1532 E. Fort Avenue.
