Judy Gayle Akers Crane, 69, passed on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Memorials: May be made to Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington St., Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, Mass. 02481, 781-237-3800 or Open Arms Home, Inc., 6250 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180, 817-281-1204. Judy was born June 8, 1943, to John and Juanita Akers in Fort Worth. A graduate of Eastern Hills High School, Class of 1961, she worked at Texas New Mexico Power Company as an executive secretary and later at World Bible Translation Center as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Richland Hills Church of Christ in North Richland Hills. She was known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren and they were her pride and joy. She was a gracious and selfless person always placing the needs of others above her own. Judy's life was a light to many, and the scriptures found in Proverbs 31:25-31 are a fitting description. Judy was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Husband, Alan Carl Crane of Decatur; sons and daughters-in-law, Kerry Lane West and wife, Sandra Gray West, of North Richland Hills and Brett Wayne West and wife, Mindy Bickers West, of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and many extended family members who loved her dearly.
