Elizabeth Vollmuth, 95, Mandan formerly of Selfridge, died March 3, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery in Selfridge, ND in the Spring.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 12:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Elizabeth was born on February 15, 1919 to John and Anna (Kleeman) Klingler in Lefor, ND. She was raised and educated in the Selfridge area. Being a farm girl she walked or rode a horse to the 1 room country school, Golden Wealth. She married Albin Vollmuth in Selfridge on October 8, 1935. She was the quintessential farm wife; she raised her family and helped on the farm alongside her husband. Her family was central in her life and taking care of them was her main goal. In 1940 they moved to San Francisco, CA before returning in 1945 to the family farm in Selfridge. Albin passed away on July 2, 1968.

Elizabeth was a member of the Christian Mothers of Selfridge. She had a wonderful sense of humor with an ability to tell great stories but she was also a jokester and would be the life of any gathering and was quite the social butterfly. Elizabeth loved to visit about her family to her friends and tell her grandchildren stories about her parents. She liked to sew and do handicrafts, she was also a wonderful cook and baker, kuchen being one of her favorite things.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her daughter, Marie (Mil) Mosset, Apple Valley, CA; her sons, Richard (Mary) Hot Springs, S; James (Sherry) Biloxi, MS; George (Margaret) Buffalo, ND; Nick (Debbie), Selfridge, ND; Jack (Jolene) Conifer, CO; Jerry (Deb) Lakewood, CO; Fred (Bernie) Mandan, ND; and Pat (Lisa) Cottage Grove, MN; daughter-in-law, Pam Vollmuth, Stanton, ND; 27 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Tom, grandchildren David Vollmuth, Allen Vollmuth and Christopher Vollmuth,, sister Mary Klingler and brother, Adam Klingler.
