Dorothy R. Lingle, 83, of Kennard died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at her home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Dorothy R. Petersen was born April 1, 1915, in rural Blair to Jens C. and Lena M. (Jensen) Petersen. She attended McCarthy Elementary School and graduated from Blair High School in 1932. On June 10, 1936, she married James H. Schneider.

She had lived in Kennard since 1936 and served as assistant postmaster for four years. Mr. Schneider died in 1980.

In November of 1982, she married Ernest Lingle. He died in 1995. Mrs. Lingle was a charter member of the Kennard Legion Auxiliary, a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1950 and a member of United Methodist Women.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.
