Died of a heart attack at the Royal Victoria Hospital after a lengthy illness. Was a 3 year member on the Barrie town council in 1949. His name was on a plaque on the renovated city hall at the time.
Described as an active, colourful man who helped in the "Clean up the Bay project. He was a good debater and represented his constituents with vigor.
In his latter years he operated the River Gardens Restaurant on hwy. 11 at Crown hill. Was a steward for the Community House and the Golf Club of Barrie.
Ran for the federal North Simcoe riding of Parliament in the 1950'S as a member of the CCF Party, member of the Barrie Arena Commission and the Lions Club. He also managed Theatre Confections Ltd. for a few years.
