Parents, Marion E. and Ellen (Dempster) Brink. Born, Dakota County, Nebr., Sept. 17, 1897. Married Marjorie Duntley, Sept. 21, 1937. Children: Dale, Beverly Jean. Educated, Public schools of Dakota County, Nebr. Occupation: Deputy Sheriff, Kern County, Stationed at Mojave. He was with the Tom Bell Land & Cattle Co., Douglas, Wyo., in 1912 and in mining, seaman dock work and lumbering 1913-16. From 1916 to 1919 he was in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma. He was then with the California State Highway Patrol, located in Kern County, 1919-20 and with the Chicago-Northwester R.R. 1920-26 working at Omaha, Nebr., and later with the Santa Fe stationed at Newton, Kan., and at Galveston, Texas. In 1927 he went with the General Petroleum Oil Co., Taft, and was then Superintendent of the packing house for the California Fruit Exchange, 1927-29 and from 1929-35 he was Labor Foreman with the Di Giorgio Farms. Since January, 1935, he has been Deputy Sheriff, Kern County, stationed at Mojave since July 1, 1936. He was one of the organizers of the Mojave Annual Gold Rush celebration in 1937 and has been Rodeo Director of the Gold Rush since 1937. He was Vice President of the Mojave Exchange Club in 1939 and President, 1940. He is a charter member of the Club and has been a member of its Board of Control since 1936. Member: Kern County Peace Officers Association; San Joaquin Valley Peace Officers Association; Montana-Wyoming National Cowboys Association; Kern County Chamber of Commerce and member of its Recreation Committee; Elks No. 1625, Lancaster.
