J.D. Smith Jr. 72, of Stockton died on Sunday at home. He was born in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. Smith lived in Stockton for 50 years as a farmer. He was married for 47 years.
Survivors: wife, Patricia Smith of Stockton; children, Bonnie Fletcher, Russell Eugene Smith, Judy Ann Hollowman, Kenneth Duane Smith, Veronica Lynn West and Jerry Matthew Smith, all of Stockton; siblings, Bill Smith of Alabama, Thelma McKay of Stockton and Bernice Clay of Marysville; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: graveside, 1:30 p.m. today, Valley Home Memorial Park, 30705 E. Lone Tree, Oakdale. Mortuary: Alternative Burial and Cremation Services.
John is the son of Fred Burke and Stella (Holland) Smith. John is my father's 1st cousin.
