DEATH TAKES AGED VETERAN
A.J. BACHELDER DIES AT GRAND RAPIDS
Served Through Civil Was and was Well Known Resident of This City and Region
A.J. Bachelder, aged Civil War veteran and one of the pioneer and residents and businessmen of Petoskey and Northern Michigan, died in Grand Rapids Thursday night. He had been in very poor health for several years owing to a stroke of paralysis. The body will be brought back here and the funeral held under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. Burial will be in Greenwood.
Mr. Bachelder went to Grand Rapids a number of months ago and until news came of his death he was not known to be in serious condition. He had been in feeble health, however,for sme time. He leaves two daughters, Miss myrtle Bachelder, of this city, and Mrs. Stetson, of Kegomic, and one son, Adolph Bachelder, of Portland, Oregon.
Arrangements for the funeral are being made today.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR AMARA J. BACHELDER IS HELD SUNDAY P.M.
Funeral services for the late Amara J.Bachelder were held Sunday afternoon at Stone's undertaking parlors. The full Knight's Templar service was used, assisted by Rev. J.W. Sheehan, pastor of the First United Methodist church. Many beautiful offerings were sent by friends.
A veteran of the Civil War, and one of the early pioneers of Emmet county. Mr. Bachelder was closely identified with the progress of the county until his health failed a few years ago. he was prominent in Masonic activities and leaves an enviable name for honesty and integrity by which he will long be remembered by his many friends.
