Josephine Hightower Barnett was not Landay's wife at the time of death. He abandoned her in Texas and, although still legally married to Josephine, married Celia Waters Williams in Alabama. He was living with Celia in Selma, AL at the time of his death, we assume. At least they were there in the 1850 census and he was not there in the 1860 census, but Celia was.
