Miss Emma Allen, along with her sister, resided at the School Street family home where they grew up and possibly the rest of her life. She began bookkeeping by the 1910 census which simply stated that she worked at an office. In '20 she continued that work at a silversmith's shop. In '30 and '40 she worked for an electric light public utility as a bookkeeper.
