Roger H. Noworatzky, age 81, of 122 Colonial Dr. St. Nazianz, died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Manitowoc County Health Care Center.
He was born January 27, 1925 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Anton and Clara (Remich) Noworatzky. Roger attended grade school at St. Fidelis in the Town of Meeme. He attended the Vocational School in Manitowoc for printing.
Roger served in the United States Navy during World War II as 3rd Class Petty Officer in the South Pacific from 1944 to 1946.
On June 15, 1949, Roger married the former Caroline A. Faust at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. From 1952 to 1975, he operated a printing business out of his home in St. Nazianz. Roger was also printer at the Salvatorian Center, Herald Times Reporter and the Hoefner Printing, retiring in 1991. Roger enjoyed reading and was a charter member of the American Legion Post 477 in St. Nazianz.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Caroline, St. Nazianz; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Steven Noworatzky, Manitowoc, Kenneth and Marge Noworatzky, Sheboygan, Donald and Sue Noworatzky, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Dennis Meyer, Waukesha; ten grandchildren: Mike Noworatzky and special friend Michelle, Danial (Amanda) Noworatzky, Shawn (Alysia) Noworatzky, Alison (Jon) Rohrbach, Kate Noworatzky, Lisa Noworatzky, Melissa Noworatzky, Chad Noworatzky, Christina (Jake) Appleton, and Sarah Meyer; one step granddaughter: Sarah (Matt) Buhr-Vogel; two great grandchildren: Elijah Noworatzky and Ella Rohrbach; one step great grandchild: Samuel Buhr-Vogel; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Roman and Sylvia Noworatzky, School Hill, Reuben and Ann Noworatzky, New Holstein; one sister: Florence Junk, Manitowoc; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Isabel and Willard Kienbaum, Elkhart Lake, Dolores and Hugo Hartman, Kiel, Florence Walsdorf, New Holstein, Leona and Lawrence Sobiech, New Holstein, Laverne Faust, New Holstein, Gilbert Faust, King, Melvin and Germaine Faust, Kiel. Roger was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers-in-law: Rita and Roland Shimek, Albert Junk, Lester, Elmer and Edwin Faust; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Benjamin and Josephine Faust.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gregory Coulthard. Entombment will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Gregory Catholic Church, from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, staff and care givers for the care and support given to Roger during his seven-month stay at the Manitowoc County Health Care Center.
