Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth L. and Karen Simmons of Jacksonville, N.C., Roy W. Simmons Jr. of Chapmanville, and Shawn and Carla Crouch of Winfield; daughters and a sons-in-law, Melinda J. Simmons of Virginia, Jeannette M. and William Kersey of Cross Lanes, and Tammy and Bob Lockhart of Ripley; and grandchildren, Gillian, Drew, Tyler, Troy, Bobby, Crissy, Brandi, and Ashley.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. Lawrence Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in Simmons Cemetery, Woodward Drive, Charleston.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
